Apprentice Junior Tester Opportunity

Central Coventry – CV1 2TL

Salary £16k plus benefits - fixed term contract 21 months.

We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice systems tester to join our growing team.

Essential skills and experience

Excel (Intermediate)

Data Analysis

Your skills:

  • Patient and methodical and able to work as part of a team as well on your own. This role requires great attention to detail and a lot of the time you will be working on similar test scenarios for long periods of time.
  • Proven ability to check data for errors and be able to think outside the box and follow complex instructions.
  • Good communication skills with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Highly organised approach to work

Technical Competencies (either experience or demonstrable knowledge)

  • Designs simple test strategies for non-complex projects.
  • Analyses test requirements and designs and prepares a simple test plan.
  • Develops and collects representative and realistic test data.
  • Accurately records the outcomes of test activities and maintains accurate test records and reports.
  • Assesses test results against expected results and acceptance criteria and through traceability to requirements.
  • Presents and communicates results effectively using appropriate communication styles and media.
  • Operates the organisation's software testing tools effectively and follows procedures and techniques correctly.
  • Completes allocated tasks in accordance with the organisation’s reporting and quality system

Essential job related functions and responsibilities

  • Testing software as instructed / directed and reporting your results in a specified manner. This will include but not limited to, manual testing, regression testing, unit testing, test plans and test data.
  • Working with team members to become fluent with our various systems and aid where needed to others.
  • Assisting with development, testing and supporting of systems.
  • Contributing to the various ongoing projects as and when needed.
  • Providing Client support as and when required by whatever means.
  • Testing of software in accordance with test plans and timelines.
  • Any other duties as and when required.

Apprentice Junior  Developer Opportunity

Central Coventry – CV1 2TL

Salary £16k plus benefits - fixed term contract 21 months.

We are willing to look at those that have developed either a website, mobile or PC app. Ideally you will have studied Computer Science GCSE, result isn’t key we are keen to see how well you have done in the programming aspect of the exam. Again we will look at those individuals that have a real aptitude for development and we
won’t be put off if they have less than a C at English, providing they are literate. That said we need someone with .Net and C# skills who has excelled in development both at school and also as a hobby. The projects you may work on could be one or more of the following:


• A technology refresh for Redress Manager – our software for the financial sector for remediation
• Supporting and implementing enhancements to sites/apps that we have developed for our digital customers
• App development/website enhancement for Credit U 
• Enhancements to Fundraising Fundamentals – our software for Universities for their telephone fundraising campaigns

Skills and experience: 

• A real flair for development – we will want you to have used .NET and C# as part of
your course and in your spare time.
• A good technical ability and some experience in web development. This could be
through a personal project or self-learning.
• Natural flair for problem solving and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability and experience of working in a team – can we at school or outside in groups –
eg team sports or voluntary work you may have done.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and a can to attitude
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• A good understanding of programming algorithms
• Ability to work to deadlines and on multiple projects at any one time
• We would like to see evidence of your technical skills if possible – links to websites
that you have worked on or GitHub links to code – from something you have done in
your spare time.
It would also be useful (but not essential) if you have a working knowledge of some of the
following:
• .Net framework
• C#
• ASP.NET MVC
• jQuery, HTML, CSS


Working week: Monday – Friday 8.45am – 5.15 pm with one hour for lunch
Working hours: 37.5 hours / week
Salary: £16k


Additional information: We work collaboratively and you will be required to attend our offices for
three days per week (Tuesday – Thursday) and you will work from home on Monday and Friday.
