Apprentice Developer & Junior Tester Opportunities

Salary £16k plus benefits - fixed term contract 21 months.

Apprentice Developer Role

What we are looking for:

We are excited to hear from individuals that have developed either a website, mobile or PC app. Ideally you will have studied Computer Science at GCSE, and have a real aptitude for development. .Net and C# skills are extremely useful as are skills acquired in development either through your education or in personal projects. 

You'll get to work on a wide range of projects throughout our financial, digital and educational divisions so it's essential that you have the following key skills: 

Skills and experience 

  • A real flair for development, with experience using .NET and C# as part of your education and personal projects. 
  • A good technical ability and some experience in web development. This could be through a personal project or self-learning.
  • Natural flair for problem solving and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability and experience of working in a team, through school, outside interests, sport or voluntary work.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and a can do attitude.
  • Great organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of programming algorithms.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and on multiple projects.
  • We would like to see evidence of your technical skills if possible – links to websites that you have worked on or GitHub links to code – from something you have done in your spare time.

It would also be useful (but not essential) if you have a working knowledge of some of the following:

  • .Net framework
  • C#
  • NET MVC
  • jQuery, HTML, CSS

Apprentice Junior Tester Role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice systems tester to join our growing team.

Essential skills and experience

Excel (Intermediate)

Data Analysis

Your skills:

  • Patient and methodical and able to work as part of a team as well on your own. This role requires great attention to detail and a lot of the time you will be working on similar test scenarios for long periods of time.
  • Proven ability to check data for errors and be able to think outside the box and follow complex instructions.
  • Good communication skills with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Highly organised and have the ability to carry out end to end testing of existing systems and new systems.
  • Logical and creative thinking skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibility
  • Can use own initiative
  • A thorough and organised approach
  • Ability to work with a range of internal and external people
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations
  • Maintain productive, professional and secure working environment
